In July 2014, the City and PHA received a $30 million Choice Neighborhoods Implementation (CNI) grant for the North Central Neighborhood. This early conceptual design is an approach to improvements on this site that is part of the North Central Choice Neighborhood, an area that has had significant problems with vacancy and disinvestment, depressing home values. Our goal is to not only stabilize the local neighborhood, but to build a lasting, secure cultural hub in a previously neglected area. The conceptual design entails affordable rental housing development for seniors, consisting of six townhomes and 49 residential units, as well as community space and green infrastructure.
