PZS Architects has been busy for quite some time with the adaptive re-use of multiple buildings on the Germantown High School site. We are transforming the buildings, which have been abandoned for many years, into a new mixed-use development with about 240 apartments. The project is being done in phases, with apartments in the former school addition building being the first to be made available for lease. Next will be the former Industrial Arts building, then the historic former main school building. The new complex will offer studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom apartments.
The first 45 units will be completed in the next 6-8 months, followed by Phase 2 which will include another 57 units, Phase 3 which will have 99 units, and the final phase that will include approximately 40.
Our hope is that these new apartments, new ground-floor community spaces, and about 3,000 square feet of ground-floor commercial space will energize and activate this area and breathe some new life into the neighborhood along this stretch of Germantown Avenue. This is a great project and we’re excited to be part of it!
