The Ember

Located in West Powelton, this new construction project in a vibrant residential area of Philadelphia serves both University tenants and the local community. Attention and care was being taken to respect the existing architectural vernacular of the neighborhood in the design of this new building. The scale and materials of the building’s facade are in keeping with the existing design fabric of the surrounding buildings, and we added cornice and window detailing that echoe some of the architectural detailing of the existing row homes in this neighborhood.

The building consists of 30 market-rate apartments with dramatic 11-foot ceilings. The units are outfitted with modern, state-of-the art equipment and materials. The building includes a green roof as well as a roof deck for use by the residents. The basement level contains general storage and a bike storage room with a self-service bicycle repair facility available for use by all tenants.
